Just from doing research on reddit, I'm seeing a lot of people complain that the 14" M2 Max for instance drains in less than 7 hours from normal usage, whereas this isn't an issue in the larger model. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Is this a problem with the new M-generation?

Also IIRC, if you upgrade from the base M to an M-pro, it has 2 fans in the 14"?

Yes, the Pro has two fans. So do the Dalles Cowboys but that is a different story.

I have used my 14" M4 pro for the entire day doing normal stuff that was not CPU intensive. After a full day I have 50% battery left. If I happen to process a couple thousand images in Lightroom I may be at 30% at the end of an 8 hour day. I suspect these other people that are complaining are spending their day running benchmarks. That would most certainly affect battery life.

Battery life for daily use is not really an issue as I am never far from a power source and can charge the device if I need to charge. I carry a 35 Watt Dual USB-C charger which charges quite nicely and is small enough to carry in the laptop bag. I just don't concern myself with battery life on the 14" M4 Pro that I have.
