Is it very obvious when you've opened an tv?

I'd like to hack my brand new tv, and upgrade the HD. But if anything goes wrong, can I just replace all the original parts and will apple be none the wiser?

From what I've seen from the take-apart photos, removing the rubber on the bottom leaves some residue. Does it ever fit again properly?

Are there any instructions anywhere of how to upgrade the hard drive in the AppleTV?
