Is it work waiting for the new MacBook Pro?

I recently bought my wife a MacBook and I really like it a lot. I'm now considering a MacBook Pro for myself since it would suit my needs better but I'm wondering if it's worth waiting for the new models. Some of things I'm wondering:

Will new the processor likely increase the price, or will they remain they same?

Will there likely be new features besides the processor upgrade (at least Firewire 800 on the 15")?

In my mind, if there will be a price increase and the only new feature will be the new processor, I'm not sure if it's worthwhile. What I've been really hoping for is a revamp of the product, like a "Rev 2", working out any kinks and moving more towards Windows interroperability. From the rumors I've read, this doesn't seem to be the case.

Any thoughts?

Price increase unlikely.

New features are possible. Don't know about FW, but people are hoping for GPU, magnetic latch, HD bay.

If you don't like the Rev B, or if for some reason there is a price jump, you can probably pick up a Rev A MBP from the refurb store for a strong discount.

true... the MacBooks right now are almost the same (minus a few features and screen size) as the MacBook Pro... and more than half the price... so MBP needs to have some great features to stay PRO

Agreed. There are some very important factors separating the MB and MBP, but I'm not sure if they can completely justify the huge price difference. Apart from screen resolution, chassis, and GPU, there isn't much differentiating the two. And for non-power/non-gamer users, it's pretty much the 'feel' of the laptop and screen resolution of 1280x768 vs. 1440x900.

If you need it instantly and are a low end user by now. If you are using it for more intensive purposes and have the patience to wait a little while then wait.

The main reason I want a MBP is the GPU. If I dual-boot, when Vista comes out it'll need the GPU for good performance. As other people have voiced elsewhere, I wish the MB would include a dedicated GPU.

Honestly, unless you're playing games or driving a huge external monitor, I haven't seen a huge benefit to having a dedicated GPU. I have a Macbook right now and have messed around with Vista quite a bit and was able to use all of the "features" that Microsoft is touting.

That said, I will be purchasing a new MBP as soon as they're released. I'd wait if I were you since the conventional wisdom is indicated an imminent release and you'll be kicking yourself for not waiting a few weeks.
