I know you will have to pay at least for service too or otherwise you can't do that.

Could just outright buy it if I wanted.

Sometimes you can get deals by financing you get the iPad half off.

Still it evens out.

Was able to get $1099 iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB for the equivalent of under $45.80/mo for 24 months with

- 50GB/month with data rollover
- unlimited SMS/voice minutes to all domestic networks

When my currency weaken to a strong $ it ended up costing me <$35/mo.

Only drawback is it is locked to my network until January.

You can always pay it off early and then continue to get the bill credits.

At least that is what I read.

Also cashflow-wise the fixed $ value I pay today gets weaker over time due to inflation.

$1099 in Jan 2022 has a weaker buying power by Jan 2024.

Ugh, so true specially nowadays.

That said, in the US, carriers (AT&T and Verizon) have been known to lock the eSIM to their own network so that's a downside of buying through carrier.

I got a great deal. I feel like a million $. Wish I can make this perpetual until the day I die.

Since 2015 and they released the first 12.9 inch iPad Pro I’ve been financing it through T-Mobile on every generation I am currently using the 2021 12.9 256 on T-Mobile finance plan, I’m thinking about upgrading to the next generation not the 2022

When my 2018 iPad Pro 11" gets its final Security Update I will need to ask my telco if they have a 24-48 month financing deal for it.

If you needed to have a cellular plan it could be advantageous. But if you did not want a plan, it will likely not be a good deal. I have had cellular plans before and they are slow and I did not use it often enough to make it worth the cost. When out now and want to use my iPad, I use the personal hotspot on my 14PM.

99% of the time I am at home or office, both covered by WiFi.

I think if you want cellular that may be an option. However I always buy my iPads out right. I finance my iPhones as I hard to get service from the carrier anyway. I used to buy my Apple Watches outright but then when the option for cellular came about I decided to get it from my carrier as an add on to my phone line.
