Hey, I was just wondering if the 3g s is really worth the extra £100 £345 for 8gb 3g, £440.40 for 3gs 16gb?

Also my plan would be to JB and unlock and then get a 3 unlimited texter and internet plan. Would I need to edit any of the iPhone's connection settings to get the 3g internet and mms set up?

Finally, if I were to buy the iPhone on PAYG I would receive 12months unlimited internet with it. On the iPhone contract for £7.50 a month more, you can receive unlimited texts. Could I add this £7.50 upgrade to the PAYG deal which would irradicate my need for the 3 contract because I would have unlimited texts and internet for at least 12months? Thanks for your time

I don't think anyone can answer the question "is it worth getting a 3GS...?" for you, as that is a largely subjective question. Obviously, to me the 32 GB 3GS's added speed and capacity were definitely worth the extra $200 over the 8G 3G. It all depends on how important the speed of the phone (not the internet, but the OS and apps) is to you, whether you will use a video camera, whether you need a 3MP camera, whether voice control/dialing is important to you, etc. as well as how much stuff you need or want to put on your phone. Those are all questions you will have to answer and then decide if they are worth the added cost to you.

I understand what you mean and I obviously phrased it wrong, but what I mean is that, is the speed difference really like a wow difference or just like oh its a little faster... The space I will use on both and to me i just don't know... I think im gonna go 3gs but can anyone answer my question about adding a text bolt on to the PAYG

The speed is definitely a "wow" difference. It's a huge improvement, far more than I ever expected. The 4x faster claim is not an exaggeration - in fact it underestimates the improvement in some circumstances. Switching between built-in apps is lag-free. The browser renders pages far faster. You never run out of memory. App crashes are less frequent. 3D games run smooth as silk. And jailbreaking, if you're into that, is much more feasible because it doesn't choke this phone like it can the 3G.

I can't answer your other question because I'm on AT&T.

eventually you are going to be crying in agony, saying to yourself

"why!!!!!, didn't i get the 3G S for $100 bucks more!!!!!!!!!!!"

if you are going to sign a contract for 2 years, make sure you love your phone:D

I had the 3G last year, and switched to the 3GS this year. Major improvement. The OS is now lag free. It's not like the iPhone 3G was slow, it's just that the 3Gs is SO fast. Easily worth $100.
