I am soon traveling near Tysons Corner, VA and am considering visiting the first Apple Store. However, I'll be in a time crunch. This leads to my question – is it worth visiting? I know it's the first one, but it looks exactly the same as most others (in pictures, at least) and I don't how much I'll get out of it.

Also, would I just be better off driving further and going to the new next-generation store in Annapolis, MD?

The Apple store at Tysons indeed looks just like the others and is usually VERY busy on weekends. I haven't been there lately but I imagine they've got a lot of back-to-school customers right now, as the public schools all start up right after Labor Day here. There is nothing special on display or as signage in the store to indicate that it is the first Apple retail store on the East Coast -- they really should do that, though!

It might be more interesting to go to Annapolis and check out not only the next-generation store there but also the pretty boats in the marina! :)
