Is it worth to upgrade the cpu?

I m about to order an Macbook Air and after reading through many posts here i decided to order the max out RAM as it could be needed in the futur for new software updates.

But is it really necessary to max out the cpu also? It s not about the 100 euro more it s more about that here in France in the Apple stores they don t have the once with max out cpu in stock but they do have some with 4 GB RAM.



Another question: I understood from some posts that i can change the language from my OS X from french to english without any problem. But will this also apply to the apps like MS Office ?
 
You will never regret getting the extra cpu boost. But I dont think that you will see a big difference. Better to get it now rather than wishing you did so later.;)

As for office, I believe the software itself is for just one language, as my copy says English on it.
 
I think you should order it with max. processor. if you think it will cost a lot to you with extra ram and higher processor, you should think about processor because you cannot change it as easy as you can replace ram. ram can wait for now.

Beware ... I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think you can't upgrade RAM on the Air yourself either. Personally, 4 instead of 2 GB RAM would be the first priority for me. After that the better CPU.

That's wrong. Ram on the air is soldered. You cannot replace it by yourself. So I would definitely upgrade the Ram in first place before the CPU. But if you can affort it definitely upgrade the CPU also. It's all about future-proofness.
 
Get the base model till the Sandybridge version lands then ebay it and get the new one. i bet its cheaper doing this than upgrading the worthless C2D.

it might even be able to overclock to the upgraded level since they are the same chip just binned higher.
 
Just went and bought the 13 inch 256 GB with 4 GB RAM and normal CPU as it was in the shop

First impression: Loving the machine!!!! Incredible fast does all what i need. I just hope it will stay like that when the new OS comes out next year ....

not a bad choice but a little pricey with 256gb.

What is maybe more interesting next year is the movement in SSD tech is going to double the speed and double the capacity for the same price.

hopefully in 2011 there will be an Air with 512gb SSD and a Sandybrige CPU for the same price as the current MBA.
 
Do the maths.

For me, i will never regret anything(not upgrading) if there is nothing for me to regret. (max out) :D:apple:
