120gb
tiger
superdrive ect

my question is it worth it to upgrade it from those specs to the spec below or am i better off buying a g5 imac or powermac

specs i would upgrade to
2ghz
2gb ram
ati 9800 mac ed
300gb

let me know you input

cheers

well a powermac is a dual, and the new ones are 2.0 or higher, can have more RAM in it, more HD space, and a better graphics card.

Thou it would be a lot more expensive to do that than to upgrade your G4

It depends on the cost of the upgrade option. If you can do the upgrade for less than $700, then I'd say yeah. If the upgrades from 700-1000, I'd say maybe/probably not. Any more than that and I'd say no way.

Do you have an idea of the cost of it?

total cost for the upgrade would be in the $600 range

Absolutely not. I have a Sawtooth G4/400mhz with 1ghz CPU, Radeon 8500, and 1gb memory and would have to think the only way to speed it up is to increase bus speed. You and I are stuck...I bet you see no appreciable speed increase.

Absolutely right. Buy the G5. Otherwise, you're just spending money delaying the inevitable.

thanks for the input guys
im just gonna sell it and save for a g5 imac and a powerbook

if anybody wants to buy it have at it
