I’m upgrading from a MacBook Pro 2016 256gb. It’s been ok so far, but I’ll be using my laptop more for school. I think the base model is good for me. Is upgrading to the 10-core CPU worth it?

I saw it’s only $180 to upgrade to the 10 core cpu. I was also planning on upgrading to the 96W USB-C Power Adapter which is extra $20. I figured since the 10-core includes this upgraded charger, I will actually be paying extra $160 for the 10-core CPU. What do y’all think?

How frequent do you see all CPU cores being busy?
If you have application that can use that 2 extra cores and improves the speed "enough" (only you can determine the value of "enough")
Then it's worth it.

Or you can tell us more about your usage and we can provide opinions based on that.
