Depends on what you do with it.

Jailbreaking can unlock an amazing amount of abilities for your phone, but it's up to you to read through this forum section or go on YouTube and do the work necessary to figure out what it can do for you.

A great way would be to search this section for the term "worth" since I'm sure there are many other threads in the past that have already asked this exact same question.

Also on YouTube search for "best jailbreak tweaks" and start watching some videos on different tweaks you might like.

P.S. there's no downside to jailbreaking IMO since you can simply restore to new if you don't like it via iTunes and be right back to normal.

As stated, it depends on what you want to do.

If there is nothing you can't do stock or nothing that bothers you about being stock then there may not be a point to jailbreaking. But if there is something you wish to do that you cannot do stock then it may be worth it.

If jailbreaking only gave me the sngular option to do away with the stock UI colors I would still jailbreak. Eclipse 3, Monochrome and Color Profiles keep me sane by letting me remove the blinding white and unicorn puke colors of the OS.

Some people only jailbreak because they don't have a tethering plan and want the option.

So, what are you looking to do?

You might find one tweak that makes it worthwhile. You can check the iOS 9 compatibility thread for the list of tweaks that are currently working. You'll have to do the research as to what each tweak actually does.

The Cydia "store" of tweaks is loaded with out-of-date stuff (going way back to the first jailbreaks) so it's difficult to browse it for viable tweaks.

I'm interested in jailbreaking my 6 plus and want to know if it is really worth it first

Absolutely!
Plus there's nothing to lose, you can always go back to stock.
Personally I find iOS intolerably sluggish without a jailbreak.
I especially like the tweaks that get rid of Apple's dumb animations that make iOS so slow. My jailbroken iPad 3 feels snappier than my new stock iPad Pro!

Lots of awesome advice.

I think the key thing that is evident in responses is doing some homework on what's available via tweaks and what to do in response to any issue.

Check out a tweak to try and make sure it does not clash with another

And even as tempting as it is please don't start downloading every tweak you see.

I jailbreak for my favourite tweaks that allow me to set my iPhone up as I wish. f.lux , eclipse2, sprintomize 3 as examples.

So you're question " Is jailbreaking worth it ? " For me Yes.

For you ? I'd say enjoy the journey and let us know how you get on.

Short answer: YES.

One caveat:

Do not, repeat DO NOT add pirate repo souces or install pirated apps. Not only are you robbing honest developers of the measly few cents they receive for their awesome work, but you just might ruin your system in the process.

And if you ignore my advice, do not expect help from this site nor reddit nor modmyi. Pirates and their warez are not tolerated by anyone.

Agree with this.

Considering that about 99% of JB tweaks and apps cost less than a cup of coffee from Starbucks it's pretty low to spend that amount of effort to cheat the guys who make jailbreaking worthwhile.
