Is it secure to use keychain?
What happens if my device is stolen or lost and somebody sees a website
with my login details. They can purchase anything or access my bank.
The only way I can see this stopped if the device is wiped remotely or the lock screen is activated.
Please advise if I am wrong

If your iDevice is lost, stolen or misplaced and you don't have a passcode lock you go to iCloud and put in Lost Mode.

If you know it's stolen and you are concerned you simply Erase it.

You are not wrong and this is why I have not turned on iCloud Keychain.

I'm not as confident about having my keychain in the cloud as with other iCloud services. Having said that, I do use the iCloud for 1Password--but that of course uses a separate password so simply having access to your phone--or even the data on your phone, does not give access to 1Password data.

I agree that 1Password has great security built in; well, at least as strong as is your master password, anyway.
But I'm not using iCloud to sync anything except Contacts & Calendar; am still using 1Password in DropBox to sync with my devices.
