I'm looking at upgrade possibilities and wondering if the LG UltraFine line is the only monitor brand that can charge the MBP 2018 (with the 85W requirement) and work nicely as an external display. Are there any other monitors I may be overlooking?

There are a bunch of monitors available with single-cable USB-C support, but not sure how many of them have full 85W charging support.

Besides the UltraFine line, LG have other monitors with USB-C, such as the LG 27UK850-W (27", 4K). That one, I think, is only 60W, but in practice the power output is enough (we have a couple in our office).

Lenovo has some, like ThinkVision P27h (27", WQHD), but that seems to be only 45W.

I seem to remember Samsung had something, but can't find it now, so maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

Thanks, I've been digging more into this, and it seems like the UltraFine 5K really is the only one rated to charge at that level, the lower powered one could charge as long as the MBP isn't under heavy use but it's probably safer to go with the Apple approved one. Now to wait for a Black Friday sale.
