I got it for $70 w/ my powerbook; either way I think it's definitely worth it for me. It really depends on what you use it for. I use iDisk to host my website and store files on. You can do a lot with 100mb. The iDisk is gonna get even better with panther. Email is also very useful, its my primary email account and I have my domain emails forward to it. Apple seems to be continually adding features to make it better. They give free downloads of random stuff all the time. Webmail and online addressbook are very useful when I'm away from my computer.

It is worth it

I think it is worth it and renewed my membership just yesterday. The eMail aspect and on-line back-up are the major factors for me. There are also a lot of bonus extras that come with .mac, namely the free applications.

Apple should sell an bundle of OS X.3 and one year of .Mac for a bit more than the stand-alone OS X.3 costs now. Having said that, the retail package of .Mac is a good way to push the service.

I've never gotten a single piece of junk mail since I've started using .Mac (and that was when it was still iTools.) The iDisk is cool, and Apple throws free stuff your way every few weeks.

I say yes, and I'm renewing in a few days.

It depends, if you just wanna host some pictures, use its email, and backup, its great. BUT, if you want a serious server (for a store or professional web site), than its not)
