Today I have been going absolutely mad trying to go to Instagram. Important to this story is that use the web to get there because I refuse to have a Meta app installed on my iDevices. I can’t see anything on Instagram without being hit with a log-in screen. I try to log-in and can’t log in. I figured it was something with my account so I tried to create a new one (I use Instagram to browse only; I don’t post), except clicking “sign up” took me to an error page. This behavior is consistent across my iPhone, iPad, and iMac.

So tonight I got the idea to turn off iCloud Private Relay. And wouldn’t you know it I could see Instagram, I could sign-up for a new account, etc.

So the question now becomes: can anyone else replicate this and, if yes, is Meta punishing users of iCloud Private Relay?

I haven't been able to log into my instagram account since getting an M1 mini.
I can still view instagram via an app on a phone or iPad, just not from the browser.

It is possible that there could be a compatibility issue between iCloud Private Relay and Instagram's login system.

I use private relay and haven’t seen a problem with instagram.
