iOS is multi-touch macbook needed for iPhone programming

Hi,

I am new to iPhone programming and looking into buying a Macbook for this purpose. Is the multi-touch Macbook really needed for iPhone programming? Will the multi-touch pad be of any use while testing iPhone applications that have multi-touch features in them. Please advice.

you need an iPhone or iPod touch.

That only allows for testing with some gestures (zoom), but not others (triple swipe, hold plus tap, etc.).

For that, you need an iPod Touch (refurb, used off of ebay, etc.)
