Approx. what percentage per day should I expect the Airpods Max battery level to drop when kept in the Apple case that is supplied with them?

The reason I ask is because during the first week I owned the headphones, I was seeing about a 10% drop in battery level per day.
I never saw "connected" on any device while in this case and I never paid all that much attention to the 10% per day drop.

However, two days ago, I purchased a third party case with the magnets for sleep mode and now I am barely seeing any loss at all. Maybe 1 or 2% per day.

Is 10% per day too much for the Apple case?
What could be going on here? Is there a battery break in period or something after which time, they hold the charge longer?

That's the opposite of what they are suppose to do in the case, it's suppose to charge the ear buds.
Well yeah, that's why I'm asking. I've been thinking about it and the only thing I can think of as a possible explanation is that I did do a reset yesterday. Perhaps the reset was responsible for the better battery retention inside the non Apple case. I haven't tried putting them into the Apple case again. Guess I should do that and see what happens.

I don't have exact numbers but the 2% sound reasonable.
If I keep mine in the original bra "case" and don't use them for a month, they still have some battery left.
Regarding your reset, it wouldn't be the first time it fixes stuff like that.
I honestly can't imagine the magnets in your Apple case being the culprit.
Hopefully it works now as intended.

Problems happening and disappearing could be because they have updated (they auto update firmwares)
IIRC, according to Apple’s website, they first need to be charged to 100% and connected to a power source in order for them to auto update.

So:
Firmware has shown the same since day one.
Since my last post, I lost hardly any battery percentage. I haven't used the headphones in that time either.
I do think the reset that I did fixed the issue. Everything seems to be fine now. I lost about 2% in the last 24 hours

Might I ask which third party case did you buy?
