Hi guys

I use my Octo 2008 mac pro for audio. I've noticed - for the past year at least - when i use Time Machine or anything with OpenGL, i get pretty bad glitching. Here's a video of what happens when i open Time Machine:

Has anyone else experienced this? I don't suppose there's a cure, is there?

I would normally assume that my card was about to die, but it's been like this for a long time now. I also had issues when trying to use some audio analysis software which displays some results in a 3d graph that you can spin around and stuff - this uses OpenGL too. The results were all garbled and you can't really read the graphs. It displays fine on my 2010 i5 MBP.

However i'm now getting some strange results/glitching with an Audio Unit plugin which uses OpenGL for it's GUI, so it's only really bothered me now.

I'm running 10.6.7 with the latest everything.

Thanks!

Eddie

Most times when a card is dying they have the straight lines going up and down the screen, while annoying those do not look like that so not certain what you have going on there. Perhaps a fresh install may help you out and the "cure" for those cards that have the solder problem is to gently heat it up in an oven to get the solder to melt back into place like it should be.
