I was surprised to notice recently that I only had 70 GB of space left on my SSD.
On running an analysis of the disk, it seems I have just over half of the disk (white section indicated with the arrow in the image below) indicated as "Inaccessible".

Only thing I've done recently is install SecUpdate 2020-005 Mojave. (I am on a cMP 3,1 running the DosDude Patch)
Any clues what might be going on?

Hello Dayo,

Is your computer currently showing any abnormal symptoms when performing normal tasks?

50%+ of a 500GB SSD being inaccessible does seem a bit strange.

Hello Dayo,

Yes, I agree with minifridge1138.

Make a backup of all of your data on the SSD immediately.

Then, try to diagnose the potential problem. Installing DriveDx and running the diagnostic tests (as recommended by bsbeamer) is a good idea.

No clue, but I'd make sure you have a backup of all your data. Just in case.

Thanks all,

I run an automated daily backup and after formatting the disk and restoring, the issue seems to be gone ... for now at least. Will keep an eye on how it behaves.

DriveDx will report prior to many failures and alert on current issues. Almost essential to have, given the relatively inexpensive cost compared to other equipment and software.
