Just cleaning out a bunch of computer parts and ran into mine. I'm now running Mojave off an NVMe on my 4,1->5,1 cMP, have a non-flashed Kepler card that runs just fine OOB and expect to get a supported AMD card in a little bit, don't use Filevault or boot into Windows so, I'm not missing my boot screens.

Just wonder if anyone can imagine a scenario where I might need this card in the future or can I safely throw it on eBay?

Maybe, possibly for troubleshooting or if you need to install OS completely fresh and have to select boot disk with option key at boot.

I'm keeping my flashed GTX 970 just in case I need boot screen. I'm sure when I do, it will be a near-emergency at the worst possible time.

I would definitely NOT throw it out!!
I am keeping mine for when I need to do some serious troubleshooting.

At this point, if you have the space, I'd keep it. It does have boot screens, which can enable firmware updates, AHT, and more.
