Is my iPad charger faulty?

Hi, I have an iPad mini 2. Plugged it in to the charger that came with the iPad using the lightning cable that also came with it the other day but it kept starting and stopping charging over and over again.

I also tried it on 2 iPhones, a 5s and a 6 and it does the same on the 6 but seems to be work fine on the 5s.

Tried charging the iPad with an iPhone charger and it charges fine but obviously very slowly.

Is there anything I can do to get it working properly again or am I going to have to get a new one?

Yeah sounds like a bad charger, bad cable, or bad connection.

Have you tried a different USB-Lightning connector in the iPad charger yet? It could be a short in the cord that is causing the intermittent charging behavior. As ActionableMango has said above it can be any one of the things they’ve stated, but my money is on the cord.

Yeah sounds like a bad charger, bad cable, or bad connection.

The brick chargers over time become
Faulty. I usually start there for troubleshooting. Then with the chord and check the pin connector.

iPad 2, you say?
May also want to check the internal rechargeable battery. Those types, when they go bad, will charge for 10 seconds or so, then fail.

Cable or bad charger brick.

It could be the cord, the charger brick, or the iPad itself. It could be almost anything.

I’ve found extension cords and outlet multipliers can cause this. I would also try a completely different outlet.
