So we all know all the stories about the iPhone camera shaking, but I haven’t seen much about the inability for them to work when there’s light. I bought this on launch day but I don’t use the cameras much so I just noticed yesterday in a concert. I have both a 13 Pro and a 14 Pro.

Just look at the difference in pictures. Also I went to a museum earlier that day and I couldn’t take pictures because the sunlight would make it look so bad. It’s like this phone can’t handle light at all. Just fyi, I did have the rattle issue but I didn’t want to return it because I would be a month without a phone and because Apple promised to fix it in a software update which they did because the cameras don’t shake.

It’s my phone defective or is this the way iPhone 14 Pro cameras work now? Even me 11 takes way better pictures.

Here are the pictures, you can guess which one is the iPhone 14 Pro.

Stage lightning at a night concert will mess with any automatic point & shoot camera (iPhone). If the camera works fine in normal lighting- then it’s just this type of lighting situation that it can’t figure out.

It doesn’t. I tried to take some pictures in a museum and they would look really bad just because there was a little sunlight. Just check the difference between pictures, it’s at the same event at the same time. The good one was taken with my iPhone 13 Pro. It didn’t matter how many pictures I was taking or if I changed it to video or changed the settings, it just couldn’t take a good picture. The difference is astonishing.

If you had the shake/rattle/roll business at the beginning (I’m assuming you did - so let me know if you didn’t) then return it. That module has crap spread out everywhere from the ois going crazy inside the module. Don’t accept a refurbished phone - you won’t get one anyway as they are in short supply. I had the loud tick and was testing it for others. Everything is fine with me - but you have an actual problem. It was all Apple's fault and you should not suffer because of it.

Return, Return - return!!!!!!

Yea, I did have that but then Apple said in statement it wasn’t a hardware problem didn’t they? So they lied and now I have to return the phone? The problem is that I bought this at launch day so I’m out of the 14 day return period. If they can recreate the problem I’m guessing they will change it but there’s no way for me to know if it’s going to be a refurbished phone because it would need t be send via mail.

In my experience, genuine Apple refurbished iPhones are better and more reliable than new units flying off the factory floor at Foxconn.
If I had to choose between factory new or apple refurbished, I’d choose refurbished every time if cost was equal.

To be honest I really don’t care if it’s new or refurbished. As long as it works and looks like new

Do we know if iPhones replaced via express replacement are new or refurb?
