Hey guys (and gals!)
Fantastic phone. GUI to die for, etc,etc. However, my iPhone has two rather major issues that I'm just pulling my hair out with. First, the volume during an outgoing call is zero *ONCE CONNECTED*. :confused: I can here the destination ring tone fine, but nothing once the call has connected. Also, no SMS messages are reaching me. I can send them fine and they are being received, but if do not receive replies. :(

I know it's not a SIM / provider issue as it works fine in another phone.

Is this *really* bad news? Does the phone need to go back?
<edit>
OK, looks like I can resove the earpiece issue by putting the headset in and the removing it again. This seems to restore the sound to the earpiece. Still got the SMS issue though :-(
</edit>

Help!

Yes. This must be the fourth 'restore/jailbreak/activate/unlock' I've done now. Neither time has solved this issue :(

You'll be pleased to know that 1.1.1 lists under it's fixes as ear piece volume issues. However you're going to have to wait a few weeks.

Also have you changed the SMC settings via the keypad for your text messages ?

i read on a forum somewhere, that the iphone can not receive sms messages from a sender which isn't a number but a name, which is kind of hard if you receive an sms message from for instance the sender 'voicemail' ....

as i understand you've unlocked your iphone, and this might be the problem
