I want to free my phone and use all the nifty new apps but I want to make sure that I can keep all my text messages and contacts etc. When I sync the phone later to iTunes will it keep all the content like before only with the addition of the installer app?

Also I have read that you will have to have a pull down menu to access anything off the 1st homepage. Does the new flip-able home pages not work with the jailbreak?

I also read that you no longer void your warranty if you do this. Is this true?
thanks

You will not lose any information by synching to iTunes after jailbreaking your phone.

There's no pull-down menu. However you will be able to flip through home screens similar to how you do in the photo app.

Jailbreaking will void your warranty. However, if you ever need to take it in for servicing, all you have to do is restore and they will never know unless they dig deep and look for the signs in the files.

Great

That's what I was thinking. I have been seeing many apps I could use and I like to customize. This'll be nice

Thanks for the quick reply

What lostprophet894 replied was correct. But I have some bad experience and like to share with you. I just update from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 and somehow my email got corrupted and I tried everything possible but nothing worked therefore I have to restore my iPhone and ever since last July when I bought my iPhone, I captured a lot of contact info, from calls to emails therefore I lost all those info hints those info is not from my Outlook and it was added manually after the first Outlook sync... but if you do the Restore I understand that it should Restore all your info minus the stuff you saved to the iPhone. Now, after Restore everything work again but as I mentioned above I lost some contact infos.
