I have an AT&T iphone and recently had it unlocked. I swapped the SIM card for a foreign GSM sim. The iphone powers on and the network status says Searching... then No Service.

Does this mean my iphone is unlocked and ready for use overseas?

Thanks.

If the network your using by way of the new SIM card isn't having any mast issues and your phone is saying No Service then it could be the SIM card is either faulty or not activated.

Are you able to try another 'other' Networks SIM card that's known to be working.

Can you try manually choosing the Network in the iPhones settings.

Thanks for your response. The sim card is from Asia so having no service in the US should be normal. I just needed to test to see if my unlocking service successfully went through and the only non-ATT sim I have is a foreign one.

I asked this question elsewhere and got my answer. Yes my phone is now unlocked for non-ATT use.
