Is My MacBook Broken?

I got my new MacBook today and I was loving it until I noticed a possible flaw. When inserting a disc into my SuperDrive it makes a loud clicking sound. I am not sure if it is normal. (I doubt it, but maybe). I don't really want to exchange it since the nearest Apple Store is 3 hours away, and I don't want to mail it in, but if it is broken I might travel this weekend. Also, does the Mac + iPod still apply if you have to exchange your MacBook?

Nope. It's normal. All the slot-loading drives do this, both on current and past notebooks. It's just the drive getting the CD all aligned into the drive so it can read it.

definitely normal. My MBP does this as well. It also makes some other annoying noises when it's having a hard time reading a disk, but thats another topic for another thread...

Thank goodness! It sounds really bad, but that's because it is my first mac/slot loading drive. Maybe I will get used to it.

Off topic but is there a universal version of Shockwave?
