I own a MBP 13" Late 2013 (i5,8GB,512) since it release. I have read in the Apple Support page that the maximum cycle count for this device is 1000 cycles while my Mac has already 1313. Does this mean that my battery is almost over? Right now it lasts me quite a few hours without problem.

I believe that particular model has a 6330 mAh battery. Since the full charge capacity is now 5535 mAh, you've lost around 13% of the capacity.

If it’s not bulging and it’s still holding a charge, you don’t need to mess with it. It probably doesn’t have that much life left in it, but I’d leave it alone until it started giving you trouble.

The retina Pros have their batteries held in place using pretty strong adhesive.

With this being said, I replaced the battery in my mid-2014 13" Pro myself because the cost of the battery was 1/3 the cost of having Apple do the battery replacement. The replacement battery I got from Amazon a couple of months ago is holding up well. I don't know how much longer I'll be using this MacBook and didn't want to invest a lot of money into it.

As long as it...
- still works
and
- is not bulging
and
- you still can get a few hours out of it
then
... just keep using it and smile...

I have a late 2013 one too and mine is this and still charges and holds ok - albeit less than if it was new but no major issues. So as they have said above - if it's going ok and still holding some charge - then it should be fine and also looks like you'll get double the charges out of it.

I like it when the battery ages gracefully with "Normal", "Replace Soon" and "Replace Now" conditions. "Service Battery" on the other hand is quite bad and usually indicates some sort of damage to the cells and can happen even at a low cycle count.
