Hello and happy new year, I read that the memory should be 4, 8, 4, 8 in the slots. ( Yes, I upgrade my 2019 27" iMac to 24GB from 8GB).
Is there an issue if I installed 8, 4, 8, 4 ? Meant in slot 0 I installed 8GB instead of 4GB and so on.
First time I make an upgrade to this beast so I have to ask. ( After the upgrade process :) )

Thank you all.

Does the iMac boot and run without problems?
If it does, I'd say the RAM is installed "well enough"... ;)

Yes the sticks should be alternated. If you do 8-8-4-4 or 4-4-8-8 you will lose around 30% of the RAM’s throughput speed according to Geekbench speed tests I performed.
