The first time this happened, I was waking my computer from sleep, and it only lasted about ten seconds, so I wasn't overly concerned about it. I just thought that maybe it was in the middle of doing something when I woke it up. Well it just happened again when I woke it from sleep, and lasted about 10 minutes. So, now I'm starting to worry.

Has anyone ever seen this before, or know what this is?

Sorry, first pic didn't load, look down below.

ummmmmm upload that image to photobucket or tinypic... you can't "link" us to your file on your PC/mac.

Does this only occur when awakening your Mac?

It could even be a driver issue, such as with the x3100 on the MacBook.

New update. It won't go away. Its always present, even on the gray and blue screens when I restart. I think Im sending it back, something is clearly jacked up.

Clearly... so have you made an appointment at your nearest Apple store?

Applecare is setting me up with a replacement. They looked at the picture and said that they wanted their senior engineers to look at it.

Im so bummed. You wouldn't believe me If I told you how many of these i've returned, and not for sensory issues like yellow screen either. They have all been hardware defects; failing HD's, power sources, now this. I really want the i7, but I'm temped to just go buy the i5 at our local apple store so that I can avoid all this nonsense with sending each one back. Its been a Real pain, but I love iMacs, so Ill stick with it.

Don't waste your time with a Genius bar. Most of them are complete morons who will just waste your time. I would ask for your money back and buy some other Mac.

I dunno.

As far as most in-person customer relations go: raising hell never fails.
