is my plan "qualifying" for an iphone?

i have officially decided to drive one hour to my local apple store and buy an iPhone tommarow, but i have two questions, is my plan qualifying for an iphone?

i am a current at&t customer, i am an additional line on a family plan of 4 phones. we have this plan "FamilyTalk Nation 700 Rollover & Unlimited Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes" from when it used to be cingular. can an iphone data plan be added to this?

i got my current phone a year ago. it has 200 sms text messages and insurance plans. when i activate my iphone (if i can), would these two things be replaced with the iphone data plan? or do i have to call to cancel insurance?

As far as I'm aware you have the option of keeping your old plan while adding the iPhone data plan for $20.

I do not think that includes insurance though. The insurance you purchased was for the previous phone and I do not think that it carries over (or that the iPhone even has an isurance plan).

I certainly don't know for sure, but the family plan I'm on with my iPhone, another iPhone and a non-iPhone is "lower" than that plan (450 minutes - it's not one of the advertised iPhone family plans), and includes 200 text messages per phone, as well as unlimited data for each iPhone. My understanding from when we signed up is you just add $20/month per iPhone on the plan to whatever the base price is, and that you can have any plan (even plans not officially offered for iPhones) that way.

My understanding is also that insurance is not available through AT&T for the iPhone. You can get AppleCare for $69 instead to extend the warranty coverage, which I'd recommend based on how much it's saved me when my iPod had to be replaced twice during the coverage period.
