Hi, i have a 1,8 ghz 80gb week 10 macbook air, when i have 10 minutes playing WoW with about 64-65 ºC the core shutdown and all the game begin to be inplayable.

this is normal that a core go down at this temp? maybe GPU temp isnt showed in ISTAT PRO widget?

do i need to worry?

there some thing to disable cores shutdown?

There is a way to disable the 2nd core, one of the preference panes apple offers with xcode (on restore discs) allows you to shut down the 2nd core

Well, I am guessing the OP desires to use both cores, just with no Shutdowns....

To OP, there are threads about this all over this forum, the thing is though you wont find any solid answers yet. There are people playing with undervolting the CPU and having good results, but its still too early to say the problem is solved.

on a more serious note, I suggest that everyone who is experience irregular behaviour of their macbook air, be it core shutdowns or overheating should send it back to apple and get a replacement. I mean at some point even THEY have to acknowledge that something is going wrong here.

Couldn't agree more. I am yet to receive my unit this saturday, but if it will have core-shutdowns like it's described all over on this forum, I am sending it back to Apple on an instant.
