iPod Is QuickTime Pro the best option for the ipod video converter?

I been looking for some ipod video converters for mac and I was wondering if QT Pro was my best option for a converter for the ipod classic? I am looking for high quality for both the ipod and TV output. I don't mind paying the $30.00 for it but I wanted to know the experience users have had. Most of my videos have subtitles in them and they are .AVI and .MKV format.

Also do you know any other good video converter that can do high quality for the ipod and tv output? I don't mind paying for a good video converter.

Ive used QuickTime Pro for a bit and its been good. But someone on this site recommendediSquint, which is really great and easy to use. Its free as well. I think the upgraded version is called VisualHub and it costs next to nothing I think. I havent tried it but I think its supposed to better for the advanced user.

I convert .avi files for iTunes and iPhone, and I think iSquint works perfectly. If you dont already use it, you should try MetaX for making the movies/series looking great in iTunes
