I want to export avi videos to work on my wife's ipod and was wondering if it's worth getting quicktime pro or simply using imovie to export to ipod compatible formats? I've tried handbrake and files won't work in itunes.
Use ffmpegx. It's free and has a ton of options. It'll have a "nag" screen since its shareware, but the only features you miss are DVD encoding features. By that I mean encoding for a DVD, not taking video from a DVD and encoding it.
