Is replacing some of the individual keys on a MacBook Pro difficult to do? One of ours has some severely worn down keys (M1 Pro) that needs to be replaced. Is this a fairly simple process? Also, anyone know of a good place to purchase them from? Thank you!

There are many vendors selling 3rd party key caps. Google help here. As for difficulty…. I’ve never done it but I read it easy to break key buckles while replacing which require buy new caps again. I guess depend on how careful you are. YouTube help here.

You can purchase replacement keycaps at https://selfservicerepair.com/en-US/home
Apple has published online repairs manuals, but I just checked them and they are missing some information.

I'm attaching below the missing parts.

Based on my experience replacing keys on earlier models, one thing you want to avoid is in any way damaging the tiny silicone dome at the center of the mechanism while replacing the cap. Unlike the cap and scissors mechanism, there's no graceful way to repair or replace a dome.

(Cf. the third bullet point under the section captioned Important in Apple's instructions: "If the dome is damaged or not centered, replace the top case".)
