Is Safari using crazy high RAM for anyone else?

I have a 14" MBP w/ 16 GB RAM on macOS 12.6.

I've gotten the "System out of memory" error a few times in the last couple of weeks. I admittedly have a lot of tabs open in Safari, but nothing more than what I had on my old Intel Mac and while it was overall slower, I never got this level of memory leakage.

Safari supposedly using 40 GB of RAM? I don't even notice a slowdown until the window pops up.
