Dumb question, but I want to make sure there's no problems with running in Safe Mode for extended periods. I'm trying to determine whether my kernel panics and display problems are hardware or software related so I thought I would just run the computer (G4 flat panel iMac) in Safe Mode for the next while thinking that if it runs trouble free then I'm probably looking at a software problem. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

There shouldn't be any problems with using safe mode for this length of time (to isolate your problem). Of course, you won't be able to print, use wireless networking, etc., but that's the whole of point of safe mode. I had a friend go through this process and it helped him isolate his problem rather quickly. Good luck!
