I wouldn't bet on it, the game has a really strong following on the DS. And 5th Cell probably wouldn't want to upset them.

BWAH? You mean a company motivated by profit would do that? Lollage.

In all seriousness it very well could appear on the iPod/iPhone.

You know, there are tons of series that stay on one platform, despite not being owned by the console maker. Sometimes its the best idea. 5th got an incredibly large following with the title, and I'm sure they don't want to risk losing it.
EDIT: Not to mention, every game they've made since 2006 is on the DS, so they really do have a large investment on that fanbase.

I asked a similar question a while ago, about nintendo in general making games for the iPhone, and apperently, nintendo will never make games for it because they'll lose money cuz an iPhone game will cost about $5, as opposed to the $30 for a ds game

as much as I would LOVE scribblenauts on the iPhone, I don't think it will happen

I could see them charging 19.99 for the iphone version.
I think a lot of people would buy it for that price point.

Isn't there a gaming section here on apple

honestly I wouldn't expect many DS games having a iPhone crossover... but I can definitely see it in the future

I certainly hope not. I got scribblenauts for my DS because of all the hype, and to be honest I have more fun trying out rude words to see what they do rather than from the actual game.

Biiiiiiig let down :(

I didn't see any similar responses when GTA or Worms made the transition from handheld consoles to the iPod. They're not a 1st or 2nd party developer to Nintendo, they're independent. My guess is they chose to produce games for the DS because of the DS' sales. They even stated their next game will probably be on a different system to the DS.
They already have the sales so there's nothing to lose.

The difference here is you're comparing small or independent game studios to something as massive as Nintendo. They both function completely different - an independent studio is likely much smaller with less than 10 employees. Many people take on many roles, the test/Q&A period isn't as extensive. Nintendo games have to get it right out the door, it isn't possible to release updates for DS games.
Then theres advertising and marketing (seen many TV or print adverts for iPod games?). Physical media, printed manuals, shipping costs. Or in the case of DD there's server maintenance and running costs.
It's all quite complex as to why games cost the amount they do.

I think it's likely the concept will come to the iphone by another developer and be called something like skribblenaughts or skriblenorts.
You know iPod gaming too much!

It grew a bit boring for me too. Was great while the initial excitement lasted, it just wasn't carried on for long enough.
