ok... i just saw holes on the bottom of both sides and thought it was suppose to come out of both. thanks

yep, just one side as was noted. I wanted to add that just be careful you are not blocking the external speaker with your hand or finger. Unlike most speakers, the one on the iPhone actually automatically reduced the volume instead of just muffling he sound with your hand.
