Just wondering, does the MBP uses Intel motherboard and wireless chipset to make up a Centrino system or Apple's own components?

Santa Rosa is the Centrino 4 platform -- Apple uses most of the required "stuff" for the platform, but because they use Atheros/Broadcom for Wireless, somebody else for ethernet, etc. they lose the Centrino Stamp.

However, they are the Crestline (chipset name) machines which is part of Santa Rosa.

Technically we really shouldn't call the latest MB/MBP Santa Rosa due to the lack of Intel Wireless.

Thank God they aren't using the intel wireless. Those things are finicky. People i know who use the centrino platform tend to have issues connecting to Wi-Fi generally
