is stacks a dead project?

I've been using the alpha version of Stacks 3.0 as long as I can remember and today it had a little glitch, which reminded me that I hadn't checked for updates in a long time.

I went to the contributor only to find it doesn't work anymore. Is the project dead or has anybody heard from a move past the alpha state?
