Back in 2016 the 9.7" Pro was slightly slower than the 12.9" model.
Is that the case again ?
I have not seen any Reviews by "influencers" quoting anything but the Spec sheet and calling it a "review".

All of the benchmarks have been close enough for both sizes that you can't really decide a winner. That being said, in past reviews (I think it was Anandtech) they usually state that the larger model can usually sustain a high CPU load for longer before thermally throttling the CPU/GPU due to having more aluminum surface area to dissipate heat. So one might expect differences when transcoding 4K footage, depending on length and ambient temperature, but it's not likely to be a significant difference in normal use.
