It is around 2k within 10% at least but really what does it matter what you call it, ultra hi def, retina, 2k all just mean high pixel density for a 15 inch screen.

No, it's not. 2K refers to the number of horizontal pixels and is generally considered a video standard measuring 2048x1080.

The Retina screen is a higher resolution that doesn't have a standard name.
