Just curious. I am tempted to pull the trigger down the road on a 16 GB kit though I'd like to have a Samsung original kit (which is double the cost of most other brands).

This is not something I'm going to doing immediately though I thought I would get input.

I won't purchase any memory from apple that I can get for half or more less and works just the same. I got the 16 GB kit from Gskill and they work just fine. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231576 They just ended a sale for $99.99 but now up to the normal cost. Should have another sale someday.

I had two 4 GB (8 GB totol) Gskill memory about 7 months ago with my MacMini 2011 without any hiccups.

Well I ordered my memory from NewEgg as well though I bought an 8 GB Samsung original kit. Two places I have seen (Data Memory Systems and Ramjet) both sell 16 GB Samsung original kits for $260.

Crucial's is $240 and OWC's is $215.

Out of those I would rather pay a little more for a Samsung kit though I'm just curious of those who have used Corsair, G.Skill, etc. how have you worked out?

Well I have 8 GB Samsung from Ramjet & it works great, no problems with performance or heat. When I go 16 GB it will be with Ramjet......

the 2011 mac mini has been really really good in all ways. with failure

about 2 or 3 had loose fan wires. here is the ram info;

8 gb sticks

geil 6 sticks 4 good

g skill 6 for 6

crucial micron 4 for 4

samsung 6 for 6

corsair 2 for 2

elpida 3 for 3

this is a pretty simple choice buy from a good seller that backs its ram.

run a 5 pass ramtest with rember takes 3 or 4 hours. if it is bad send it back if it is good keep it.

4 gb sticks around 88 of 90

the 2011 mac minis I have upgraded are around 112 for 116 with ram upgrades.

no mac mini has fully failed. logic board = return to apple

no hdd has failed.

I had one return in about 70 sales.

my fault the sata cable popped loose.

i reset the sdd correctly tossed in a partial rebate to the buyer and it is working since august.
