Hello. I'm sorry if this has been posted already, but I'm a bit conflicted about getting a 2018 Mac mini with an eGPU for doing 4k video editing. I've read conflicting posts about this topic and also youtube videos stating that there are still "bugs" with using an eGPU that can cause some lag and slowness in the timeline of Premiere and also FCP X. Can anyone shed light on this? Or is it a non issue. Originally was gonna wait for an updated iMac, and might still if the MM is not a good choice for this type of work.

I can't say about Premiere, but with FCPX an eGPU on the Mini totally crushes 4k timeline footage. I can stack layers of 4k GH5 footage with several effects on the footage and multiple titles (with effects on the titles) and it plays back smoothly at full res and without the need for rendering.

I am using a Sapphire Vega 56 in the Asus XG Station Pro. And my mini is the 6 core i5 model with 16gig ram.
