is there any counter rumors that there will be a 5.8 iphone 12? for me personally, the 5.8 hits the sweet spot in size as i felt the 6.1 is a big hard to one hand operate, not impossible, but definitely less ergonomically. or is the new chassis design going to somewhat mitigate this factor thus render my complaint moot.

I honestly think the 5.8” size will no longer be around, but it’s Apple, anything can happen. I do believe straight edges on the new ones will probably drop the all around width because it won’t have a hump to it arching out. But that’s just a guess.

thats another thing, does the smaller iphone 12 pro have the same physical foot print as the current 5.8 foot print? and they manage to squeeze in the extra space by shrinking the bezel? if thats the case then yeah i absolutely have no problem with that.

Until the actual dimensions are released by Apple and I can read it on the details page of their website, I couldn’t say. But by then you’ll know. I’m sure they will make the comparison during the announcement too.

If I remember correctly, the You Tube reviewers who got their hands on the dummy units used to make actual cases said that the 6.1 inch units are pretty close to current 6.1 inch models in overall dimensions.

Let’s be honest, your thumb cannot reach the top of the 5.8 screen unless you readjust your grip and the iPhone 11 isn’t much wider than the iPhone 11 Pro. Are your pockets are too small to fit an 5.8 iPhone 11 Pro but not a 6.1 iPhone 11?

I’ve had both and the bigger iPhone 11 wasn’t much of a compromise for the bigger size.

I like the 5.8 size best also but, moving to the 6.1 Pro won't bother me.. I'm going to wait and see how the phones feel in hand including the larger 6.7 Pro before I pass judgement...

While it is not 100%, all the iPhone 12 cases that are already available on Amazon only have the 5.4", 6.1" and 6.7" case sizes.

while there is truth to your comment, i had to make less of a adjustment on the 5.8 as compare to the 6.1, i recently went from 6.1 on the 11 to a 5.8, and i find it more comfortable in one hand usage.

5.8" was dead a couple years ago. Apple typically lags in factor trends. The 6.1" form factor has been mainstream for a long time, especially with Android.

Get the 5.4 with Solo Sport Loop. It will stretch to 5.8 over time. 🤣🤣

I thought this was going to be an issue. Also loved the 5.8” screen size. But I think the 6.1 isn’t going to be that much bigger & there are two IOS14 functions that’ll help with a larger screen - Back Tap: For eg. If the Control Centre & Notifications are out of reach on the larger phone, just assign Double Tap to Control Centre & Triple Tap to Notifications. I’m using it like this now & it removes the need to reach up for those menus.
