Here's the thing: my father is a heavy user and his 7 Plus usually never dips below 20 percent, but with 11.2 his battery life has discharged before the usual time. Does the X have better battery life?

PS: he's not interested on the 8 Plus.

Battery usage:

I feel like my iPhone 7 Plus had better battery when I first got it. After a year of use though, it had degraded noticeably and the X definitely lasts me longer.

Seems to be about the same to me, but I don’t usually use it very heavily during the day.

Depends on how you use it. For me, the X is better than my 7+ was.

I agree. Usage is everything on how battery life will vary based on settings/activity. But if I had to add to that, The iPhone X is more efficient than my iPhone 7 Plus.

According to Apple, the iPhone 7 Plus offers better battery life compared to the X.

If you're comparing an aged iPhone 7 Plus battery with a new X, then results will differ.

Since I’ve always charged my iPhones every night, all I require it that it lasts all day. If it has at least 20% charge on it at 10:30 PM then I’m happy. I’ve never had a power problem with my iPhone 7+ or with my iPhone X.

For my usage I find my year old 7+ is more or less on par or slightly better than with the X. A fair tradeoff considering the much better form factor of the X (for my needs).

I moved to the X from a 7+. They are about the same, I’d say the 7+ was slightly better than the X...But the X is smaller so pretty good...

Effectively I echo what @Shinigami301 is saying :)
