Is the flash drive any faster in the new MBA?

I was wondering the same thing. There was a rumor posted early july for faster, more efficient SSDs http://www.appleinsider.com/article..._400mbps_flash_memory_in_new_macbook_air.html
"Apple is said to adopt "Toggle DDR 2.0," a 19-nanometer process for NAND flash memory offering 400 megabyte-per-second speed, in its next MacBook Air, according to a new report."
I think the new MBA is going to be a sublime little machine and well worth the wait. I wrote before about the Sandy Bridge processor being a full 3 generations improved than C2D and what they may mean performance wise. Apple.com is saying TWICE as fast which would be 100% faster! That's a bold claim and higher than I suspected... but can't wait to see the benchmarks.
AND, if it does have the newer SSD, perhaps that explains how they are able to say "twice as fast". Here is hoping! It would be the cherry on top! (well i kind of wished for an HD facetime camera but not the end of the world)

I thought the new Airs would have much faster SSDs?
Yes ... that article about those 400MBps drives was debunked awhile ago, though, but I was at least hoping for the faster Samsung SSD.
Laptopmag shows the SSD in the 13" is much faster than the 11". I wonder if this is the Samsung vs. Toshiba difference.

By the looks of it I'd say the 13" MBA is using the 400MB/sec SSDs that was rumored earlier.
Yeah saw that, but larger drives are normally faster and 127 is hardly close to 400
Real world copy speed is something very different than sequential read speeds.

No SATA II drive is getting more than 100MB/sec there.
How do we know the new MacBook Airs do not use SATA III? Sandy Bridge supports SATA III as we have seen on the new MacBook Pros and new iMacs.
The part number on the 128GB SSD indicates it's a SATA II SSD.
I haven't seen the part number on the 13" 256GB SSD.
