Since Google took away the option of setting up Gmail on the iPhone via an Exchange server, I have a question about alternatives.
First I loved having my Gmail accounts set up via Exchange, but since I can't anymore, I have my Gmail accounts set to Fetch. But then I was playing around with the Gmail email app. Is that using exchange? I noticed that emails come in immediately and I get notifications on the lock screen, which is good.
But as an alternative, I was thinking of just forwarding my gmail accounts to my Outlook.com address and just set that up as an exchange server.
What my question is which way would be better for battery life? Using the stock APP with Outlook.com exchange(Email only), or using the Gmail email app?
