With today’s updates, is the iPad Air now faster than the iPad Pro?

What makes the iPad Pro better now?

We won't know for sure until someone get's their hands on the new Air and runs some benchmarks, but considering the 12Z has 2 extra performance cores and 4 extra GPU cores my guess is that the Air will beat the Pros in Single Core speed, but will still be slower in multi-core and GPU scores.

That said, unless you really want ProMotion, Lidar or Quad Speakers I don't see a good reason to spend the extra money on an 11" Pro.
