is the iPhone(13, 12, Xs Max) screen supposed to stay on forever if it's sitting in a stand facing me?

for example, I have it sitting in a stand on my desk right now. I'm not looking at it, but it is facing me. The screen NEVER turns off. If I put it down with the screen facing the ceiling, then the screen goes off after about 30 seconds.

I can replicate this on the 13, 12 and Xs Max.

Just wondering if this is normal..

No, it should not do that.

Make sure Settings: Display & Brightness: Auto Lock is not set to "never."

it's set to 30 seconds on 12 Pro, 13 Mini and Xs Max.... even if I just prop them up against a tissue box... as long as I can see the screen, it never turns off... (but like I said, if I turn the screen to face away from me, then it turn off after the 30 seconds are up....

check .

ooops... that must have been the reason... I though it was off... but somehow it was turned back on when I restored the phone during iCloud acct swapping on my phones.

turned attention awareness off and now it turns off at the 30-second mark. :)

thanks!
