my late 2013 15" retina logic board is busted, and i need to get a new one. is it possible for me to get a 2014 one?

Is the late 2013 15" rmbp compatible with mid 2014 logic board?

Only if you have a Late 2013 model - you can use 2014/2015 logic board - you'll want to get a board that includes heatsinks especially if you have iGPU / intel iris only!
Late 2013 and mid 2014 15" models are compatible with each and you should have no problems swapping them out. It does take a bit of work to swap out the logic board, so I hope you are okay with doing it and have the necessary drivers for the screws.
The 2015 model logic board is not compatible with late 2013/mid 2014 models as the 2015 model uses the force touch trackpad instead of the standard one on the 2013/2014 models. The connector for them is different on the logic board.
